Writing
by LZ
Writing is dangerous because it means expressing the truth of one’s soul. Whether something is “fact” or “fiction” seems less important than where one has to go to find the emotion that drives the story, no matter what it’s about…
Some of my favorite quotes on writing, by Anais Nin:
“If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don’t write…”
“I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.”
“Someday I’ll be locked up for love insanity. ‘She loved too much.'”
“I walked into my own book, seeking peace.”
“I don’t hear your words: your voice reverberates against my body like another kind of caress, another kind of penetration.”
Another quote that inspires me:
“Be careful, Anais. Abnormal pleasures kill the taste for normal ones.” (from Henry & June)
