Justine did not like when words that had the clear potential to verb – to be verbs – to verb each other – were stuck acting like nouns. Justine took a sip of her drink. Justine heard Mark give his wife a compliment. Justine continued contemplating the nature of writing and speaking.
Justine continued standing on the landing.
Justine continued pretending that she was looking at the painting.
